Eibenthal village

Eibenthal village

How to get there: from the national road, from Oršova to Moldova Nouă, 6 km up the hill from Lubotina Valley

The village is located in a picturesque area in the Banat Mountains. The slopes around it are covered with a mosaic of fi elds, meadows and pastures, which determines the great biodiversity of plant and animal species. Eibenthal is one of the "Czech" villages founded by Czech colonists in Romania at the beginning of the 19th century. To this day, about 300 Czechs live here, as well as several Romanian families. Together with the neighboring village of Baia Nouă, it currently forms the largest Czech community in Romania.
