How to get there: from Republican Road 57, from the village of Dabova
In the narrowest and deepest part of the Danube river, among overhanging majestic steep karst walls, are located the Great and Small Cauldron - undoubtedly the most impressive part of the Danube gorge. When entering the village of Baziaș, the Danube has created a spectacular nine-kilometer gorge with alternating low and narrow places, bays, high cliffs and caves. The "Kazanite" area is a naturally protected area. Endemic species grow on the hard-to-reach slopes, and among the beech forests there are thousands of yew trees.
