At the foot of Ciucaru Mare mountain, with access only from the Danube, there is this cave, known since ancient times. Used in the past as an important strategic military point, today the cave is one of the most important tourist attractions, both from the point of view of cultural heritage (history, archeology) and natural (cavity that shelters colonies of bats). The cave is open all year round, it can be visited using equipment specific to mountain hiking, and between May and October the visit is made with a guide from the Iron Gates Natural Park.
